Fading Fae Part 1 - Disenchantment

The image came to me in a flash during a conversation. The single shot carried the weight of a world that’s lost its way. It carried the weight of a mother hurting from her own children. It carried a lover that’s been taken advantage of and abandoned. The image was that of the fading fae, the disconnect of mankind with its elemental nature.

The first part of this story we explore the grief. Here an elemental stands in the graveyard of her own forest. Torn and shredded by the shadow of Man, helpless despair is all that remains. If you look closely, delicate saplings of new life hold the promise of renewal. However, Man’s growing disenchantment spreads with greed. Is there hope for the Fae? Will they be seen again, will the lands be cared for.

Fading Fae Part 2 - Healing

After the shock of loss has passed, we must heal. Retreating into the comfort of the remaining forest, this elemental surrenders to the grief. She carries the love of a sister who’s lost her brother. She carries the pain of the mother who has been hurt by her own children. She carries the scars of a lover, pillaged by her own protector. This is the Earth, heavy with the betrayal of her own stewards.

She’s been here before, she knows how to restore. The storm will pass and the lost will find their way again. For now she licks her wounds and rests in the passing of time.

Fading Fae Part 3 - Re-enchantment

The pain is alchemised into renewal. A new life breaths from the delicate and fragile saplings. The elemental stewards their growth and nurtures the next generation of forest. She is a keeper of the green lands, a mother to all life that wonders through. She waits eagerly for Man to restore themselves and open their hearts to the ever present and eternally consciousness natural world. In that space, they will see her again and steward the world as designed.

I didn’t plan for the shoot to go this way. The initial image was of the fading fae - the elemental stricken with grief in a destroyed forest. Interestingly, as we moved to the final part of the shoot, the clouds parted and the sun illumined the forest and hillside. We went from a wet and gloomy decease, to a dancing and hopeful relief. The saplings became the main focus and the light brought restoration.

I love seeing these micro-patterns. To me, this is a sign of Mankind’s re-enchantment. That we will see our interconnectedness and awaken from our ignorance. What was meant to be a shoot of our destruction, turned into a narrative of renewal

The community and I sincerely appreciate your support
in a made-to-order, independent art practice.

  • I work with local printers and frame makers, supporting skilled craftsmanship rather than mass production and supporting independent businesses instead of corporations. Every artwork is produced in collaboration with a wider team - including models and creatives - who are fairly compensated, with models receiving a share of framed artwork sales.

On a personal note, I believe in creating a fair, sustainable and holistic world. I price my work in a way that ensures comfortable living for all involved and supports the development of greater, positively impacting projects.

A significant portion of revenue is reinvested into:

    • local businesses and independent makers

    • eco-conscious companies and the development of sustainable packaging (developments underway)

    • nature-focused projects and environments that inspire the work

This approach ensures that every piece you own is not just a print, but part of a wider ecosystem of creativity, fairness, and empowerment. Your gift spreads further and helps more than you will know.

  • Each piece is made to order.

  • The intention is to create something that holds presence in a space, rather than just filling it. We use Giclée printing which utilises micro-fine droplets to reproduce tonal subtleties, smooth gradients and show the intricate textures.
